2009 MLB Preview: Baltimore Orioles

Baltimore Orioles

IF (4/5) - Huff, Roberts, and Mora are good offensively, but we'll see if this IF is good enough for the AL East. Wiggington should get some ABs as well, including splitting DH duties with Scott.

OF (3/5) - Markakis is excellent. I'm not very impressed (yet) with Jones and Pie, who had .311 and .312 OBPs respectively last year. Freel provides some depth, as does Scott.

SP (2/5) - This is scary, especially considering the line-ups they'll be facing in the East. Guthrie can pitch and I swear I've seen Hill pitch extremely well. Uehara is having hamstring problems. Liz's ERA was over 6.00 last year; Hendrickson's was over 5.00. Albers and Pauley (11.68 ERA in 6 games for Boston) are possibilities.

RP (2/5) - After Sherill, there is Ray, Sarfate, and Jim Johnson. That's about it. Walker had a terrible year and could bounce back. A couple of spots are up for grabs here.

Wildcards: Albers, Freel

[Disclaimer: I do not claim to be an expert on your team. I think it's fun to do this stuff before a season starts and then see how close (or how far off) I was. If you spend time from your day insulting us, telling others to insult us, or posting in a blog or messageboard about how wrong our opinions are, then we are flattered!]
