As we continue to build up to our 2nd Annual Blogathon this weekend, we figured it might be time that Furious Wedge joins the podcastosphere. While that is not exactly a groundbreaking venture in the ways of technology, we hope what we talk about might at least be new, fun, amusing, and can provoke some thoughts or make you laugh. As is the style of FW, we're going to stick to the silly, the unnoticed, or the undiscussed aspects of sports... or video games... or maybe not stick to anything at all...
Though it took some time to master the crazy technologies of the world, we can unleash our first edition which is not short on news; including talk of IndyCar in Brazil, 24 Hours of Daytona, and best of all: details of Blogathon 2010 which this year will include not only a live-chat IndyCar blogger roundtable! but also a general taking over of the Furious Wedge throughout Blogathon by a motley crew from Roy Hobbson at Silent Pagoda, the return of Andy "Speedgeek" Miller, as well as the great people behind MyNameisIRL, Pressdog, 16th and Georgetown, IsitMayYet?, TooMuchRacing, and to give blogathon some remote possibility of sanity, George Phillips from OilPressure...and maybe even more.
You read that right, we're giving ALL of them the keys to Furious Wedge for a weekend! You can hear about this, plus MarioKart and all the other aspects of Blogathon, racist basketball, the Australian Open, Winter X-Games, Sao Paulo's IndyCar race and more. Feel free to enjoy the fact that we recorded this Sunday before the Championship games were done and before Kentucky got upset; and don't forget to catch the commercials from our proud sponsors!

These two guys on this podcast are pretty dumb, amirite??
In fact, I'll give away a prize to anyone who adds up the total number of "ums" and "you knows." Bonus Furious Wedge bucks if you turn that into a drinking game and take pictures (preferably during the Blogathon).
Sounding good, guys.
Seems as though I may be seeing Avatar at some stage, and as you know that film lasts for about 13 hours so I'll either be a bit late Saturday or disappear early Sunday.
I have every intention of being in the chat! Even if I have no idea what I'm talking about (what's new). Doubt I can manage to stay awake all night but will go as late as I can.
Rainbow Road = horrible! I'm gonna have to get some Mario Kart practice in. I stick with Mario pretty much all the time although I did manage to unlock my Mii, it's quite fun to see yourself in the game!
I'll make up for lost blogging time when I return...
IgottagetmesomeofthoseMicroMachines! IwanttheMicroMachineUSAplayset!
Oh, and my copy of Mario Kart has not showed up yet. I guess I'll be headed to Blockbuster tonight in order to do some emergency unlocking for the next 48 hours...
Great show, guys!
Andy, I created the new verb "standard-karting" in your honor.
I may not have micromachines or an ET board game, but I now own two King Size Whatchamacallits. A pretty neat food picture will be posted near Blogathon kickoff.
Am I gonna be THAT screwed? Not that I care that much, but back when I ruled my dorm at Mario Kart for N64, all it took was me picking Donkey Kong plus my considerable skillz. At least, that's how I would have spelled it back then. Anyway, I suppose I'll be at the disadvantage of not knowing which way the tracks go next, but are the unlockable karts that much better?
No. Actually, in all honesty, you likely have a chance of lapping me. I am semi-terrible.
Wedge is pretty tough though...
Hmmm, I see from reading the wiki (the next best thing, since I can't run home and play over lunch) that they've recycled some tracks from SuperMK and MK64. The plot has thickened. In a good way.
...Sanity???
The possibility was only remote.
