The snow is coming down pretty hard here just west of D.C., I've got two 6-packs of Root Beer, plenty of snacks, and a hankering for some racing and some posting. Lets get this thing underway!!
Early predictions for the Daytona 24 itself from me:
-With the rain out there we still don't match the record caution number from last year, we do however set a new record for distance covered. Montoya whines about something, Pruett says hello to his family, and The Ganassi 02 entry full of IndyCar drivers are never interviewed on camera. But a lot of those seems a given... how about an overall prediction?
Ok then, Sylvain Tremblay and Nick Ham take their Mazda back to the champions spot of the GT class (while the Camaro goes down as a dud for all the teams that took it in) and the 02 Ganassi takes the runner up spot overall and in DP, afterwards Scott Dixon may crack a smile.
BUT, my surprise champion of the race has to go to Team Castaways: Spirit of Daytona which has Buddy Rice, Darren Manning, Paul Menard and Antonio Garcia, 3 of the 4 being guys who spent their previous 24s as ringers in the past brought into other past winning teams, but this year cast away only to start their own line-up together in the #90, you don't mess with this kind of karma... even if Paul Menard is involved.

Easily the most snow I've ever seen. The kids are sliding all over out there. They even finally got to play hockey on real ice.
Can't abide by that. The Spirit of Daytona car will never be able to shake the "Menard Stink".
